Sherwin Williams Floor Paint

Painting Porch Black – Sherwin Williams Exterior Paint

When it comes to protecting your porches and flooring, you know that you require the best. Sherwin Williams Porch & Floor Enamel is an excellent product.

You can use it inside and outside. It is designed to work on porches, basement stairs, patios, and laundry areas, as well as others.

This product works to keep your wood and concrete surfaces looking new for longer. As such, the formula is proven to perform in challenging conditions.

Consider using this paint in high-traffic areas. You`ll block dirt and other debris from adhering to the floors and marring its shine.

It`s possible to find this paint in satin sheen and gloss. Both options are designed to be used on floors, though the gloss version works well on doors, window trim, and more. If you choose the satin version, it has a slight sheen to it, giving you a richer color.

What I Like

The best part about this paint is that it can be tinted to almost any color. When everyone is so focused on bold accent tones, you want a paint that can handle them all. This one sure does that, allowing you to have gold, fire-engine red, and any other color you desire.

What I Don`t Like

While the colors are amazing and you get that high-gloss, satiny sheen, the one issue with it is that it doesn`t last very long. If you drag furniture across it, you`re likely to scuff the paint or even scratch it right off.

Does Sherwin Williams Porch And Floor Enamel Need Primer

Priming the whole floor isnt necessary with this product. Apply two coats. But spot priming any wood knots with oil primer first is a good idea because the enamel wont prevent bleed through in them. You wont see bleed through in wood knots if the color is dark, but its noticeable with light colors.

Painter`s Select Floor Paint

Whether you`re painting the wooden porch or concrete, the Painter`s Select Porch & Floor Coating might be an excellent option to consider.

It is quite easy to use, and many applications only require one coat of paint. However, you can always apply more coats as needed to cover stains or provide more resistance to foot traffic.

This paint is also quite durable and designed to last for many years. Of course, touch-ups might be needed. If that happens, you can expect the next can to match the first.

If you`re looking for a coating that is resistant to wear, this is the option for you. When it`s used on a porch, it has a slight shine to it, though it can still withstand you dragging across the wicker patio furniture.

Product Highlights

¢Low VOC ¢Quick drying¢Little ventilation needed

What I Like

I primarily liked the fact that this product was quick to dry and had no odor. It`s annoying when you`re painting the basement, and it smells like paint for the next week. You won`t have this problem with this product.

What I Don`t Like

While trying to find things to not like about this paint, I was left stumped. The only thing that slightly concerned me was the satin finish. Primarily, this works well for trims, cabinets, and the like and might not be suitable for floors that see a lot of traffic.

Help Porch Paint Peeling/time To Re

Hi there. We built our home 5 years ago. I have a large covered wrap around porch and porch steps that were painted with porch paint I bought at home depot. From what I can tell, there was no priming done. The paint has peeled up in so many places it just has to be re-done asap. painter told us he would pressure wash, sand, prime and paint it with Sherwin Williams porch and floor enamel. When I went to the Sherwin Williams store to pick a color, they advised me to use their Deck and Dock elastomeric coating made by duckback. Im concerned because from what I’ve ready, once this type of product is put on, its so much work to ever redo it with something else. I just want that shiny painted porch look that will last as long as possible. I know that what we should have done from the beginning is go with a solid stain but since we didn’t and the surface is already painted…Where should we go from here???? I can’t thank you enough for your input!

  • You may also pressure wash the surface with an electric or gasoline pressure washer, however, make sure the surface is completely dry before applying the product you choose. If there are areas of grease, gasoline or oil stains, it may be necessary to use a concrete cleaner before painting. You may also use a water-bleach solution, mixed with 1-part bleach and 2-parts water, scrub the surface with a stiff bristle brush, and rinse. Again, it is very important that the surface is allowed to completely dry before painting.

    Paint Shortage At Sherwin Williams

We recently had some repair work done on an exterior window frame and now need to paint the new wood that was added. When we had our house painted in September 2017, the painter wanted to use Sherwin Williams, and so we agreed to that. We have plenty of the main wall color, but we have none of the trim color, Origami White, left over, which has a base color A61 W 51, bright white semi-gloss. When we went to a SW paint store yesterday in Culver City, the person at the store said that this was not available at this time, although he had full gloss in inventory, but I did not want to use that, since it would not match what we already have.

Have you noticed paint shortages, as described in this article?

We were told to call back in two weeks to see if there was more inventory. We could have gone to Ontario to buy the paint, but that is half way to Palm Springs and not convenient. Should we try to order the paint on line? What is going to happen to the prices?
