Wayfair: Are there any color palettes or trends that are really speaking to you right now?
Rachel: Im typically drawn to earthy neutral tones for outdoor furniture. Woods and darker metal finishes, blacks, browns, creams, and pops of green. I love when the furniture blends with the surroundings and feels like it was meant to be there. However, this year Im also loving pops of brighter colors, like pinks and purples, for a fun eclectic vintage feel! You can also keep the furniture neutral but add pops of color with fun flower arrangements!
Wayfair: What is your advice for maximizing outdoor living space for those who may only have a smaller patio or balcony?
Rachel: I love to sit and read, or eat outside, so I always suggest to add some sort of seating area! Whether its a small bistro table, a set of two club chairs, or rocking chairs, its always nice to have a spot to sit outside.
Wayfair: Sunshine and blue skies have us daydreaming about outdoor dining! What are your favorite style tips for alfresco tablescapes and entertaining?
Rachel: Treat your outdoor dining space similar to how you would an indoor space! Select comfortable dining chairs that make people want to stay and relax, add an outdoor area rug underneath the table to ground the space, and add some sort of lighting above, like string lights. You can add a simple centerpiece to the table, like candles, lanterns, or a succulent arrangement.
