Aliso Beach Fire Pits

This smaller beach is located in Laguna, with a paid parking lot directly in front of beach access. Theres also a park within walking distance, so its a perfect place to bring your family for a day of playgrounds and surf. Like most beaches, it gets busy on the weekends, so youre going to want to get there early if youre setting up your bonfire. This is the only beach in Laguna with bonfire pits, so they tend to be in high demand and there are only about ten available daily. But once you get your bonfire all set, you can enjoy the views of sandy cliffs and the beautiful houses overlooking the beach as you watch the sunset.

What Is The Age Requirement To Obtain A Permit

Permits are issued only to adults over the age of 21.

Proof of Driver’s License or State-issued ID will be required to obtain a permit. This is important since the permittee will be responsible for all individuals attending the beach fire activity and will be expected to sign a waiver for the attendees of the beach fire.

The permittee must be on site at all times during scheduled time listed on permit.

Until What Time Can I Have The Beach Fire

All beach fires must be extinguished by 11:00 p.m. Upon completion of beach fire, the fire must be extinguished completely.

Material or hot ashes may not be buried in the sand or disposed of in a trash container or dumpster. The permittee must close lid on fire pit and lock before leaving site.


All litter or leftover material must be removed from the beach when the permittee is finished.

Can Children Participate In Beach Fire Activities

Children under the age of 18 must be chaperoned by an adult 21 years of age or older at all times during the beach fire. The permittee will be responsible for all individuals attending the beach fire activity and will be expected to sign a waiver for the attendees of the beach fire.

Bonfire Ring Rules And Reservations

Smokeless fire pits return to Carmel Beach

The FIRE must be extinguished WITH WATER no later than 11:00 PM. You must be at least 18 to reserve a fire ring. Applicant is responsible for removing debris upon conclusion of event. Officers will be inspecting the site each night and violators will be contacted to return and clean-up. The division reserves the right to deny future reservations if this provision is not met. Plastic & foam may not be used as fuel. No more than ONE weekend reservation date at the same pit per month will be permitted. If you need to contact BEACH SAFETY personnel during the event – Please call central dispatch at 248-1777 and PRESS 1.

Grilling on the beachBeachgoers are permitted to grill on the beach. If using charcoal to grill, beachgoers must take the charcoal with them and properly dispose of it off of the beach. Charcoal cannot be disposed in the beach trash/recycle containers and it may not be put in the sand.

Balboa Pier Newport State Beach

Another extremely popular beach in Orange County, Newport has bonfire pits scattered throughout the coast. Newport beach pits are located at teh Balboa Pier, Corona Del Mar State Beach and the Newport Dunes.

At the Balboa pier, before you start your fire, you can take a stroll along the pier or grab a snack at one of them any restaurants lining the beachfront. Get to em while you can, along the Balboa area, because local residents have been fighting for removal because of air pollution. But as of now, that hasnt happened yet so go ahead and get your bonfire on.

Can I Have A Fire On The Beach In San Diego

When planning to hit the beach with the purpose of enjoying a bonfire, you need to be aware of San Diego fire pit rules. For instance, you cannot bring your own portable fire pit to most places and need use the designated ones.


Also, reserving a fire pit is not possible. Theyre available on a first-come, first-served basis between 5 am and midnight, so arrive early and secure yours as soon as possible when planning a San Diego beach fire night with your loved ones. Do I Need To Bring My Own Beach Fire Container And Materials

6 Simple Steps to Building the Perfect Beach Fire

The Martin County Parks and Recreation Department will only provide the fire container to the permittee. Outside containers or apparatuses are not allowed. In regards to beach fire materials, it is the responsibility of the permittee to attain and provide them.

Beach fire material must not consist of salt treated lumber, tar paper, contents containing any rubber products, creosote treated lumber, glue impregnated material, plastic, foam, or household trash. All burn material shall be free of nails and metal.

Vegetation or materials located within the beach park are not allowed to be taken, damaged, or used as material in accordance with Chapter 17, General Ordinances, Martin County Code.

Flammable and/or combustible liquids must not be utilized for fueling beach fires. Paper and matches only must be used to ignite your fire and fluid/gasoline is not allowed.

Material should not be stacked any higher than provided apparatus and a minimum of three feet clearance from the outer edge of the provided apparatus at all times is required.

Appropriate beach fire material must be placed in the provided apparatus assigned to the permittee.

Vehicles are not allowed on the beach and all material must be hand carried to the site.

What If I Need To Cancel Due To Bad Weather

Unsuitable wind or weather conditions must be taken into consideration prior to and during the time of the permitted beach fire. If unsuitable conditions exist and the permit must be canceled, Martin County Parks and Recreation will contact the permittee at the contact phone number and by email by 12 p.m. on the day of the permitted activity.

Due to wind and weather conditions that may arise, Martin County Parks and Recreation has the right to cancel permitted activity at any time or to request extinguishment of fire at any time.

Anytime the State or County has issued a red flag warning or a drought exists, no permits will be issued and permits will be canceled. For cancellations made by Martin County Parks and Recreation based on these conditions, Martin County Parks and Recreation may issue a refund or offer another day to the permittee as an option.

For rain or other weather related issues or should the permittee cancel event for any reason, refunds will not be issued so please plan your activity accordingly.
